The acreage of Paver Park Estates spreads between Shade and Tuttle Avenues. This site is only about a quarter mile south of the eastern terminus of downtown’s Main Street and Ringling Boulevard. This community is wedged close to two other charming suburban downtown neighborhoods—Alta Vista and Ringling Park.

The man behind Paver Park Estates is Martin Paver, who moved from New York to Sarasota in the 1950s to become one of the prominent local developers. Besides this flagship Paver development, Martin and his two sons have also established the Sarasota communities of Glen Oaks Manor, Kensington Park, and the Southbay Yacht & Racquet Club in Osprey.

Paver Park Estates Homes for Sale

Paver Park Estates was Martin and sons’ first major venture in the Sarasota real estate market. The development was originally platted in 1950 and subsequently, it was built out over the next few years. Two additional phases were added to it in 1953 and 1954. The homes were added from the canal that runs through the middle of the community to Tuttle Avenue. The southern boundary is marked by an old railroad track easement delineating the Paver Park property from the Alta Vista neighborhood.

Paver Park Estates’ original target market was the crop of World War II veterans settling down in Florida whose market entry sparked a suburban housing boom in the 1950s. The homes for sale in Paver Park Estates were set at affordable prices. However, these were a breed apart from the prefab, cookie-cutter houses which were common builds entered in the low-priced real estate market segment in those boom years.

The Pavers’ guidepost for their home construction was focused on surpassing the building code standards of those years. The community’s houses, as a result, were solidly built with plenty of extras like natural wood kitchen cabinets and screened-in porches.
