Venice Continues to Impress Baby Boomers


 

Venice recently reaffirmed its lofty stature among the U.S. towns and cities best for retirement. The city emerged third in the top 100 most popular spots for retirees as compiled for 2015 by the popular website TopRetirements.com, which in effect strongly recommends Venice homes for sale to retirees.

This online resource also noted the dominance of Florida in its ninth annual list, “Where Baby Boomers Go to Find Their Best Place to Retire.” In this 2015 compilation, exactly one-fourth or 25 town and cities came from the Sunshine State, with four among the top 10. Besides Venice, those included in the leader board were Sarasota (2nd), Ft. Myers (9th), and Naples (10th).

The pros which the magazine cited for Venice included its warm climate, cost of living at national average and above average air quality. The city’s estimated median home price of $196,000 and low crime rate were also plus factors in the popularity of Venice homes for sale among retirees, the publication said.

As attractive for retirees hunting Venice homes for sale, the city’s property market offers a wide selection of residential types. These include not only single family homes and condos in multi-story buildings but also condo-type villas and townhouses.

For multi-story condominiums, among the great choices are beachfront properties near the downtown. Three excellent condos which fit the bill are the 120-unit Valencia on the Gulf, the 76-unit Venice Sands and the 32-unit Island Shores . The price points in these upscale condominiums start in the $300s and scale upward to the $800s.

Affordable homes in golf communities

Alternatives on affordable single family homes, as well as townhouse or villa-type condos, can be found in a number of Venice golf communities, such as Jacaranda Trace, Sawgrass, and Turnberry Place. Asking prices of multi-family residences in neighborhoods like Jacaranda Trace are typically quoted in the $200s.
