Work on the redevelopment and expansion of Bayfront Park in Longboat Key could start by yearend of 2015 or early 2016 as the Sarasota County Commission approved a $2 million counterpart funding for the project in June 2015. The proposed improvements for the 8.6-acre park include the construction of a kayak launch and separate parks for small and large dogs.
