Who Wants More Thrills from Riverside Park?

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, November 30th, 2016 – Check this out. More perks are being added to residential properties on the northwestern banks of the Manatee River which, as they are now, already count in prime listings of homes for sale in Palmetto.

A six-phase, $2.3 million project is currently underway at this riverside location, promising to further spice up the life and leisure possibilities around its neighborhoods. This initiative is under the wings of Palmetto’s City Redevelopment Agency (CRA), with funding support from the Florida Department of Transportation.

Multi-modal Trail

Who Wants More Thrills from Riverside Park?

The project’s first phase involves creating a pedestrian-friendly corridor on a stretch of a little over a mile along 10th Avenue West running north towards 17th Street West. Besides work on this shared-use path, a major redevelopment of Riverside Park near the southern terminus of 10th Avenue west of the Green Bridge is also in the pipeline.

The earlier phases of the project saw the completion of a new boat ramp, a new seawall, and a living shoreline. Also covered in the park’s redevelopment project are landscaping and drainage improvement, parking lot reconfiguration and paver placement, and installation of decorative lighting and new signs.

New Hub for Socials Rising

Permitting is now underway for a new two-story building to replace the existing park pavilion. Planned for 2,500 square feet, this new structure will feature a restaurant, bait shop, and a deck extension overlooking nearby mangroves. Its design includes large glass windows to allow panoramic views of the river and the building’s deck. The city hopes to generate revenue here with its plans to rent out building space for social events, such as weddings and receptions.

Close to this planned facility, the CRA is also planning to build a new floating dock capable of accommodating up to 21 small boats. This dock would provide convenient access to the planned new building, as well as open a link to the nearby multi-modal trail.

Neighboring Condos Sell Fast

All of these redevelopment efforts should contribute in further firing up market interest on Palmetto homes for sale around the park’s locality. At the nearby mid-rise Regatta Pointe condominium, five units were recently snapped up by buyers with one deal closed less than two weeks after the condo’s listing in the MLS of Manatee homes for sale.

Likely not to last too long as well in the current MLS is a two-bedroom Regatta Pointe unit sales-listed early this November. This unit has a floor area of 1,435 square feet and priced just a shade under the $200s.

Enhancements to a Marina Lifestyle

Its condo building repainted entirely in 2015, the Regatta Pointe property was developed starting around the mid-1980s. The architecture of its residential condominium was so designed to maximize sweeping river views and the Bradenton’s city skyline across the river’s banks.

This development has 136 condominium homes, all in a classical design with a number of them multilevel in their configurations.. Each of the condos is bundled with either a one-car or two-car garage. The property features resort-like facilities, including a swimming pool, spa, and fitness room. It has a total of 350 boat slips, presenting a marina lifestyle enhanced further by the ongoing upgrades at the neighboring Riverside Park.
