Prospects Looking Sharp for Downtown Bradenton Homes

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, June 11, 2018 – Market listings of downtown Bradenton homes for sale are getting some added sheen nowadays, as previously planned new attractions in the city center are close to completion and more are set to be established.

One project set for a December opening this year—the Marriott Springhill Suites hotel on Old Main Street—promises to help reshape the downtown Bradenton entertainment scene. This $22 million hotel will host a rooftop bar operated by Sarasota-based Oak & Stone specialized in craft beer and artisan pizza. The 131-suite hotel will also have a ground-floor restaurant.

Across the hotel, the downtown’s new parking garage is scheduled to be opened early next year. A $12.5 million project, the city garage will provide 500 parking spaces and host new offices for the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. The garage will also feature 8,000 square feet of street-level retail space and public art.

These multimillion-dollar projects are proving to be a downtown catalyst, with local entrepreneurs gaining more confidence and setting up new shops and eateries not only on Old Main Street. Similar establishments are opening on 13th Street and at the Village of the Arts.

A Unique Urban Trail

In a related move, a $6 million streetscaping project is in the works to connect all of downtown’s points of interest from the riverfront southwards to the Village of the Arts. This initiative seeks updating of the downtown streets’ aesthetics, improving walkability, and enhancing outdoor dining opportunities.

At the heart of this project is the creation of the Together Manatee Art and History Trail, a walking trail highlighting the many attractions, historic sites, parks and public artworks along the riverfront‒Village of the Arts stretch. Spearheading this effort are Together Manatee consisting of local business leaders sponsoring community projects, and Realize Bradenton, an NGO promoting the downtown as a cultural attraction.

In the pursuit of its goals, Realize Bradenton has also launched recently the interactive website WalkBradenton.com. Through this user-friendly online facility, its users can pinpoint through their smartphones, tablets or computers downtown Bradenton’s shops, restaurants, accommodations, places to visit, and sports and recreational facilities. The website was created to attract local residents, visitors, and businesses to the downtown, and in so doing, foster economic development and enhance quality of life in the city.

Some Sweet Spots

For home buying opportunities, check Point Pleasant, a quaint neighborhood near the banks of the Manatee River and only a few blocks west of the downtown’s new points of interest. Sales listings in this community could range from affordable cottages to high-end riverfront estate homes. Sales-listed here around April this year is a four-bedroom circa late 1940s residence with a floor area of about 2,800 square feet priced in the low $400s.

Condo hunters, on the other hand, would be in step with the downtown beat at River Dance on 3rd Avenue West. Adjacent to the popular park Riverwalk and just a block east of Old Main Street, this condominium typically has market-listed units with two bedrooms and two baths within living areas measuring from 1,575 to 1,624 square feet and priced between the $200s and the $400s.
