Auteur Enters Downtown Sarasota Condo Derby


 

SARASOTA, FLORIDA, December 10, 2018 – The sales gallery for yet another new condominium project in downtown Sarasota is set to open in early 2019. Branded as Auteur, this new condo is rising on a 1.23-acre site on 1000 Boulevard of the Arts. This parcel, a part of which now hosts the Hyatt Regency Sarasota, is just east of the upscale Beau Ciel condominium.

Auteur is planned as an 18-story tower with 55 luxury residences priced at between $1.75 million and $3.5 million. Retail space including square footage for a restaurant are also on the drawing board of the Auteur project costing a total of $170 million. Besides the retail space and high-end Sarasota condos for sale, the condominium is also programmed for two ground-floor units which will be offered on the market as affordable rental housing. They will be made available to locals earning 80 percent or below the area’s median income.

Eloquent Design

Auteur bids to capture the interest of hunters of luxury Sarasota condos for sale with superior design elements which are unique and precisely express the condominium’s branding. The brand of the condominium, its developer explains, is an inspiration from the French word for “author or originator; an artist whose style and practice is considered original and distinctive.” In effect, the condominium provides a place where the condo owners are able to author their “personal vision of life.”

Auteur’s developer is BOTA Development Holdings LLC which includes the Ascentia Development Group, a Sarasota-based company. These major players in the Sarasota real estate market have also successfully developed the nearby Beau Ciel condominium as well as the en Provence and Aria condos both on Longboat Key.

The world-renowned designer Forrest Perkins has been tapped for the curated interiors of Auteur. With this designer’s contribution to the project, buyers can expect each condo unit’s ambiance to be of uncommon artistry and inspiration. For starters, each of the condominium units will feature spacious open floor plans with walls of glass offering panoramic views of Sarasota Bay.

The Auteur project will create 279 new parking spaces that will be shared with the 294-room Hyatt Regency Sarasota. The condominium’s construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019. Initial occupancy is expected at the third quarter of 2022, with completion by the end of that year.

Fat Stock of New Units

The Auteur residences are in addition to almost 1,200 condos and townhomes which were recently completed, still under construction or are in the pipeline in and around the downtown area, the Golden Gate Point Peninsula and Rosemary District.

Two other condominium projects are just south of Auteur—the 73-unit Ritz-Carlton Residences in the massive Quay Sarasota development and the 49-unit BLVD Sarasota on the southeast corner of Boulevard of the Arts and Tamiami Trail.

As of October, there was a healthy rise of 89.5 percent (36 units) in new listings of luxury Sarasota condos for sale priced from $1 million upwards. Inventory in this market segment during the month also rose 6.6 percent to a total of 146 units.
