Building Boom Echoes in Northeast Lakewood Ranch


SARASOTA, FLORIDA, July 15, 2019 – Three new communities are set for northeast Lakewood Ranch, part of several approved projects that would bring in over 3,000 new homes in this area east of Lorraine Road and south of State Road 64.

One of the new communities in the pipeline is Solara, a project of national homebuilder D.R. Horton. Separately, this builder is now working on Palisades at Lakewood Ranch, a project under its Freedom Homes brand at the corner of Lorraine Road and State Road 70.

Another upcoming local buying destination, Azario Lakewood Ranch, is a venture of national homebuilder Taylor Morrison. The blueprint for this new community indicates that it would consist of two neighborhoods: Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch and Park East at Azario.

New Golf Community

An 18-hole golf course is on the drawing boards for the Esplanade at Azario. This neighborhood will feature the amenities signature of Taylor Morrison’s active lifestyle Esplanade brand, such as a resort-style pool, fitness and wellness centers, and sports courts. It will also have a full-time lifestyle manager to plan and coordinate special events and parties for the residents.

Several amenities are also set in the Park East at Azario where Taylor Morrison offers a selection of single family homes with customer-inspired features. The Azario residences’ floor plans are flexible too and can be customized with the professional assistance of this Scottsdale, Arizona-based builder’s Design Studio.

Age 55+ Project

Kolter Homes of West Palm Beach, FL has likewise lined up development of its Cresswind community in the Lorraine Road‒SR 64 quadrant. This project set on 250+ acres is geared as an active-adult community for age 55-plus residents and is targeted for opening in the fall this year.

Cresswind’s development theme springs from three main elements: Nutrition, Fitness, and Relationships. This new Lakewood Ranch community will be Kolter’s eighth Cresswind community across its market territories in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. For the Sarasota market, this Lakewood Ranch project comes after its development, Artistry, at the eastern terminus of Palmer Boulevard in Sarasota.

Projects In Queue

Notably, the quadrant of Lorraine Road and SR 64 already have current selections of newly constructed Lakewood Ranch homes for sale. These choices include new construction from Lennar Corp. in the golf community of Lakewood National and in Polo Run. The Pulte Group is likewise already selling in this northeast quadrant of Lakewood Ranch in its Del Webb community catering to age 55-plus home buyers.
