Esplanade Expands Taylor Morrison’s Palmer Ranch Footprint Further


SARASOTA, FLORIDA, December 13th, 2016 – Taylor Morrison, one of the nation’s top homebuilders, bought 227 acres in Palmer Ranch in late November. This deal amounts to $36 million and would further expand the national homebuilder’s footprint in this South Sarasota master development.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company announced that it will develop the Esplanade of Palmer Ranch in this site just west of Honore Avenue. Envisioned as a gated community, it will ultimately have some 500 homes and feature the active-lifestyle facilities emblematic of Taylor Morrison’s signature Esplanade brand.

The company hopes to start work on this new community in early 2017 in time for an opening late in the year. Home pricing is still being drawn as of early this December.

As in all Taylor Morrison’s other Esplanade communities, the active-lifestyle showcase in the Esplanade on Palmer Ranch would be on an amenity center. Its features will include wellness services, lounge areas, activity rooms, fitness center, and a catering kitchen. Outdoor facilities on the drawing boards extend to a resort-style pool and spa, playing courts for tennis, pickle ball and bocce ball, plus provisions for a Bahama bar, dog park, fire pit and events lawn.

Additionally, a full-time lifestyle manager will be onsite to provide coordination services on the community’s special events and social activities.

Communion with Mother Nature and the great outdoors will likewise be very much a part of the lifestyle at Esplanade on Palmer Ranch. Directly adjacent south of this property is the 1,382-acre Oscar Scherer State Park with nature trails, picnic area, and canoe/kayak launch.

To complement the beauty of its natural surroundings, Esplanade on Palmer Ranch will incorporate lush landscaping, grand oak trees, two large wetland preserves, and several lakes. Another new project of Taylor Morrison, which it now calls Legacy Estates at Esplanade on Palmer Ranch, sits just next to this 10 miles-plus stretch of paved and carless trails for walking, jogging, and biking. Legacy Estates is programmed for 147 single-family homes with floor plans in the 2,800‒4,000-square-foot range. Its site of over 100 acres is just south of the existing Silver Oak neighborhood and east of the Bay Oaks Estates, two popular destinations for searchers of Sarasota homes for sale.

Taylor Morrison has two other current projects in Palmer Ranch—Arbor Lakes and Cobblestone, which is also being marketed as an Esplanade community. The new builds at Cobblestone are priced from the high $300s up to the mid $700s as quoted for models with floor plans ranging from 1,689 to 2,433 square feet designed with two to three bedrooms. Pricing and square footages at Arbor Lakes are roughly in the same range.

This builder has also several other Esplanade developments in the region which include Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch, Esplanade at Artisan Lakes, and Esplanade by Siesta Key. In Nokomis, it has Bellacina by Casey Key, which is likewise being promoted in the market as an Esplanade community.
