Harrison Ranch certainly can’t steal the thunder from new developments in its more illustrious southern neighbor Lakewood Ranch, but this district in Parrish between U.S. 301 and Erie Road too is getting its fair share of recent exciting additions on Sarasota homes for sale.

Just in October 2014, Bloomfield Hills, MI-based Pulte Homes announced that it is opening a new 43-home neighborhood in Harrison Ranch. Pulte and its sister homebuilder, Del Webb, are already building in other communities in Harrison Ranch, like The Reserve with 70 homes and The Cove with 50 homes.

Pulte’s new phase in Harrison Ranch will showcase the homebuilder’s Life-Tested home designs with 11 options to choose from. The homebuilder developed these models based on consumer feedback, resulting in residences that don’t have wasted or idle spaces typical in older homes. Pulte’s Life-Tested homes are noted for their more usable space for every member of the household. These homes are also relatively more affordable and are priced within the reach of an average American household’s budget.

The price points of the 11 Life-Tested home designs that Pulte is launching at its Harrison Ranch’s new phase start the high $100s. These models range from three to seven bedrooms in designs with up to six baths.

The Dockside, one of the most popular among these models, features floor areas ranging from 2,536 square feet to 4,262 square feet of living space. In addition to its three- to seven-bedroom layouts, this model also flaunts a media room, multi-generation suite, gourmet kitchen, and a drop zone at the home’s entry.

Abundant amenities

Harrison Ranch is under a distinct community development district (CDD) which is responsible for operating and maintaining various recreational facilities. These facilities include a 6,500-square-foot community center supervised by full-time activities director who also organizes and coordinates community events. Among the amenities in the center are a gym, game room, kitchen and BBQ area.

The community center also has a heated, junior Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis courts, and children’s playground. Other amenities available at Harrison Ranch include multi-purpose sports fields and five miles of walking trails.

Golf community attractions

Harrison Ranch is also located just south of the Buffalo Creek Golf Course, noted for its 7,000-yard links designed by the internationally acclaimed architect Ron Garl. The course, designed to challenge both serious players and fun golfers alike, is currently undergoing a major renovation.

Other residential communities with plenty of available properties are thriving around Harrison Ranch. Current listings of Sarasota homes for sale, for instance, include a lot of choices at the River Wilderness Golf and Country Club and at the River Plantation both just south of Harrison Ranch.

At River Plantation, several listings are priced under the $200s among which is a property placed in the MLS in October with a tag price of $224.900. This home features a floor plan of nearly 2,200 square feet with three bedrooms and two baths.

Another new listing was likewise added in October 2014 at the golf community of River Wilderness, also for a three-bedroom residence with two baths. This one has a floor area of close to 2,250 square feet and an asking price approaching $370,000.
