SARASOTA, FLORIDA, April 13th, 2016 – Rarely seen in recent years, a historic district vied for market attention along with newer developments in the Manatee and Sarasota counties’ Parade of Homes, with a project in Laurel Park amongst the eight featured communities in this annual builders’ showcase unveiled in February‒March of 2016.

The Homes of Laurel Park is located between Oak Street and Devonshire Lane and is platted for 19 single family homes, with expected project build-out in two years. For its Laurel Park community, it is offering customizable designs featuring the latest in home technology and energy efficiency.

These design choices include coastal contemporary and British West Indies styles as well as a modern home rendering from Mark Saltana of DSDG Architects. The Homes of Laurel Park features a retention system utilizing bio-swales, which Legacy explained are used to remove pollutants and silt from surface runoff water. This system works through the vegetation and rocks positioned as filters in the slightly sloped sides of the property’s swales drainage areas.
