M/I Homes Expands Footprint to Oasis at West Villages


SARASOTA, FLORIDA, June 20th, 2017 – National builder M/I Homes has announced that it will soon be building at the West Villages, a fast-growing master-planned development straddling the boundaries of Venice and North Port.

Ranked amongst the top 20 U.S. homebuilders in the U.S., this company has set its sights on the master development’s Oasis at West Villages for its first venture in south Sarasota County. M/I Homes currently has presence in the Manatee County markets in Bradenton, Parrish and Ellenton.

No doubt bullish on the region’s housing prospects, M/I Homes plans to build 136 homes in the Oasis, which is the newest neighborhood in West Villages. The floor plans for these residences will range from approximately 2,100 square feet up to more than 4,000 square feet under air.

The Oasis residences will be built on 60-foot and 70-foot wide lots located west of the Myakka River. The features of these residences include tile roofs, open floor plans, outdoor living spaces and three-car garages.

Covering 10,000 acres, West Villages hosts the established communities of Gran Paradiso, Grand Palm, Island Walk, and Sarasota National. It was ranked as the fourth largest U.S. master development in 2016, affirming its growing stature as a major destination for prospective buyers of Sarasota homes for sale.

Top Builders Present

Besides the Oasis, two other communities are set to be added at West Villages. One is the Renaissance where the Canadian builder Mattamy plans some 650 single family homes and paired villas. The other West Villages neighborhood on the drawing boards is the Preserve wherein top U.S. builder DR Horton plans108 homes in large-sized lots.

Other builders already with a stake at West Villages include DiVosta, Lennar, and WCI Communities. Newcomer M/I Homes is ranked as the 13th largest homebuilder in the nation, with nearly $1.7 billion revenues in 2016.

M/I’s Manatee Projects

Creekwood Townhomes is one of the new projects in Manatee County where M/I Homes is now building. This community is located in Bradenton west of Rosedale Golf and Country Club and Interstate 75, offering two-story units with two to four bedrooms and square footages priced starting from the low $200s.

M/I Homes is likewise building single family homes at Brookside Estates on 129th Street NE just south of the Upper Manatee River Road. Bradenton homes for sale in this new community are priced in the high $300s, featuring four to five bedrooms within floor areas of over 3,000 square feet.

At Parrish in north Manatee, M/I also offers new single-family homes in the Twin Rivers community. Its offerings here are priced from the $300s up to the $500s and designed with floor areas of between 2,300 and 5,550 square feet. This community is located west of Rye Road between Gamble Creek and the Manatee River. Amenities abound within its pristine site, such as playgrounds and soccer fields, beach volleyball and basketball courts, hiking trail, boat ramp and picnic pavilion.

The Residences at Bougainvillea Place brings in M/I’s new builds to Ellenton. Here, its homes are priced starting in the $300s with their floor plans in the 2,000-square-foot range.
