SARASOTA, FLORIDA, August 15th, 2016 – As of early August 2016, the MLS of Sarasota condos for sale lists less than 20 available units at Golden Gate Point Peninsula. More are expected to be added soon, however, with the recent approval of the site plan for The Pearl at the 22-acre waterfront neighborhood by the southeastern approach of the John Ringling Bridge.

This new upscale project is scheduled to break ground in October 2016 for the redevelopment of two lots on the block of 609 Golden Gate Point just across west of the Pier 550 townhouses. The Pearl’s site in the middle of the peninsula is planned for a four-story structure with under-building parking.

The planned condominium will have just eight units, each with 2,750-square-foot floor plans and two garage parking spaces. Project rendering shows The Pearl in a classic modern architectural design with art deco accents. The starting price for a condo unit was reported at $1.65 million.

Besides The Pearl, two other boutique-type condo projects are in the pipeline at this peninsula just north of the Sarasota’s Bayfront Park/Marina. One of these upcoming condos is The Allure which is planned at 111 Golden Gate Point across south the neighborhood’s entrance on Gulfstream Avenue. Planned as luxury townhouses, this project is set for 10 four-story units each having a total floor area of approximately 6,400 square feet and priced in the $2 million range.

Construction plans are likewise afoot at a half-acre site for an “iconic” condominium at 688 Golden Gate Point which is a sister development of the One88 condo also located at the peninsula. Tentatively named Six88, this property is planned for a nine-story building envisioned as a new architectural landmark in Sarasota with its unique design based on “hard engineering” meshed with traditional construction style.

Few Choices Left

Square footages and pricing of units in Six88 are yet to be announced, but its sister condo One88 can provide some hints. Built as an eight-unit condominium, One88 features 3,034-square-foot units with tag prices of its three remaining available residences at between $2.8 million and $3.3 million.

Only two residential units likewise remain at the nine-story condominium at 280 Golden Gate Point which features just eight residences each occupying an entire floor. One still available is its most spacious unit at 5,658 square feet designed with four bedrooms and five baths, and priced at close to $5.5 million.

The other Aqua unit still listed amongst Sarasota condos for sale has a tag price approaching $3.2 million. It features a floor area of 3,425 square feet, designed with two bedrooms and four baths.

Each condo unit in the Aqua has two private elevator entries, a private two-car garage, plus an individual boat slip with lift. This condominium was designed by Guy Peterson, an award-winning architect who received a Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects just recently.

Current resale units are only a handful at Golden Gate Point, one of which is a rarely available three-bedroom condo at La Bellasara with a floor area of 3,490 square feet and an asking price of $3.25 million.
