Parade of Homes: A Showcase of Diverse Choices

Builders in Sarasota and Manatee have the residential property market in these two counties pretty well covered with their current model offerings cutting across various price segments. This wide choice for prospective buyers of newly built residences was evident in the annual Parade of Homes which the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association held in late February up to early March of 2014.

Eighty homes from 26 builders were showcased during the 16-day tour, up from the 65 house models displayed the previous year. Entries in the 2014 parade ranged from starter homes priced in the high $100s to million-dollar luxury residences.

Neal Communities is among the parade participants which have a close eye on the first-time home buyers. For these folks just entering the home market, the homebuilder entered in this year’s parade several choices. One is the Gull 2 Cottage at the newly opened Grand Palm community in Venice. This model is a two-story home with a front-porch design and a floor area of 1,663 square feet. Its open and airy layout is complemented by a large master’s bedroom with a walk-out porch and a kitchen center island. It has a starting price in the high $100s.

At this price range, the homebuilder also showcased in the Parade of Homes its Sunlight 3 model at Sugar Mill Lakes in Palmetto. This model has a floor area of 2,031 square foot designed with three standard bedrooms plus an optional space for either an office or fourth bedroom.

Moving to new builds around the mid-price range, Ashton Woods Home flaunted The Casey model in the tour. Spanish style in its architectural design, it has three bedrooms and three baths and boasts of a resort-style pool and a spacious courtyard with a stone fireplace. Located at The Links at Rosedale, this home is priced starting from the mid-$300s.

Upward to the mid-$500s, John Cannon Homes opened for viewing The Baylin at Country Club East. This model is impressive with its Tuscan architecture and stylish living areas which evoke the casual California flair. Its floor plan of 3,325 square feet incorporates four bedrooms, 3 baths, and a great room. This home’s classic style is enhanced by an outdoor living area which can morph into a summer kitchen and an entertainment area.

The luxury segment is definitely the domain of London Bay Homes which put in this year’s parade six models having starting prices upward of the $1-million level. One is the Isabella at the Founders Club. It came no less from the drawing boards of Romanza, the homebuilder’s award-winning design studio. This model has a contemporary look and feel, with granite counter tops and bold custom artwork only a few of its outstanding features.

The Avena at The Lake Club at Lakewood Ranch is another London Bay entry in the 2014 Manatee-Sarasota Parade of Homes. Carrying a $2.9 million tag price, this two-story, four-bedroom model also drew much attention because of its lakefront site which affords an eye-pleasing view of the country club. This home’s interior features include four bedrooms, five baths and a half, a game room suite, parlor, and spacious living areas leading to private patios. It also comes with an office, bar area, and an elevator.
