SARASOTA, FLORIDA, April 24, 2018 – Prospective home buyers with quality schools as a prime factor in their buying criteria would be well-advised to pursue their residential search in the Sarasota region, particularly South County.
One credible piece of advice that they could refer to is the rating from the website Niche.com which recently ranked Sarasota as one of the Florida areas with the best public schools. The findings of this online research portal, moreover, showed South County topping all public schools state-wide.
This Pittsburgh-based research portal gave south Sarasota an A+ grade overall, the same rating for this area’s public schools. In addition, it ranked Sarasota’s South Gate Ridge and Gulf Gate Estates among the top five Florida areas with the best public schools. As a whole, Sarasota County was ranked at third in this Niche.com rating for Florida school districts.
These findings jibe with data from the Florida Department of Education which show that the Sarasota County School District is one of just two of Florida’s 67 school districts to have maintained an A grade since 2004 when the state started grading districts. Sarasota schools also placed second in Florida Standards Assessment scores on English Language Arts tests. Notably, Sarasota student SAT scores have been above national and state averages since 2012.
One outstanding showcase of Sarasota schools’ excellence is Pine View School in Osprey. A recent ranking has reaffirmed this South County school as one of the best public schools in the U.S. and the No. 1 in Florida. This lofty rating, which adds some lift to Sarasota homes for sale especially in South County, were based on stats from the financial news and commentary website 24/7 Wall St.
This website’s evaluation was based on U.S. schools’ performance versus national education averages, such as SAT score which average about 1000 out of 1600 nationally. By this benchmark, Pine View has a foothold within the country’s top 20 schools, with its 1360 average SAT score cited in the 24/7 Wall St. rating.
The website also noted Pine View’s excellence in student‒teacher ratio which came out at 17 students for every teacher. The enrolment from 2nd to 12th grade in this school was 2,051 students, according to 24/7 Wall St.
Separately, U.S. News and World Report ranked Pine View as 13th nationally and No. 1 amongst Florida high schools in 2017. Notably, U.S. News ratings as early as 2007 has ranked this school amongst the best nationally. The Florida Department of Education has also given an A grade to Pine View since 1999 when this official grading system started.
Choices of housing near Pine View are plentiful and range from condos at Pine Run to new builds in the Palms at Casey Key and pre-owned residences at the large community of Willowbend.
