WCI Steps on the Gas at Sarasota National

WCI Communities, a fully integrated community developer and luxury homebuilder focused solely on the coastal Florida markets, has further accelerated development of Sarasota National, a 2,400-acre Venice golf community that it acquired in 2013.

Following a string of model launchings during the first half of 2014, the Bonita Springs-based homebuilder introduced in July 2014 the first collection of coach homes at the community’s Banbury II neighborhood. Eleven two-story buildings with six residences each are on the drawing boards for this neighborhood.

These 66 coach homes are designed with interior space of 1,375 to 1,831 square feet, all of which have an open great-room plan, two bedrooms and two baths. Other design features include upscale kitchens, breakfast cafés, one-car garages and screened lanais for a full appreciation of the neighborhood’s nature preserve and water views. Five of the coach homes plans also incorporate dens. The prices of these coach homes start from $189,990.

Conservation areas account for more than 1,300 acres of Sarasota National’s total acreage. One of the major hallmarks of the lifestyle in this community is its semi-private par 72 championship golf course designed by prominent architect Gordon Lewis. This18-hole, 7,344-yard layout was constructed following the Silver Signature specifications of the conservation group Audubon International.

Amenity-rich community

The amenities lined up at Sarasota National, a maintenance-free community, include an 18,000- square-foot clubhouse with a grand ballroom, bar and facilities for fine dining. A 10,000-square-foot community center is also on the drawing boards to accommodate a resort style pool, tennis courts and a fitness center.

A total of 1,584 homes have been approved for this WCI Venice project located a short distance south of US 41 (Tamiami Trail) and the Taylor Ranch Elementary School. In May 2014, the homebuilder introduced its Golf Estates single family home models at Sarasota National, which have the largest floor plans among the residential offerings in this community.

These are three-bedroom residences designed with great rooms along with formal dining rooms and dens or flex rooms. They provide living space ranging from 2,664 to 3,184 square feet and offer two-car, side-loading garages. These houses are marketed at tag prices in the $300s range.

March marketing salvo

WCI in March served notice of its aggressive marketing thrust for 2014 with the introduction of seven furnished models at Sarasota National which consisted of two carriage homes, two villas and three grand villas. One grand villa model entered in the recent Parade of Homes, the Florencia, is currently among the listings of Sarasota homes for sale.

This home features a 2,039-square-foot floor plan designed with two bedrooms and two baths., This Grand Villa model attempts to balance entertainment and private spaces through an open floor plan designed with a dedicated den, formal dining room and gourmet kitchen with breakfast nook, freestanding island and pantry. Sliding glass doors leading to a covered and screened lanai and pool are the other distinctive features of this home priced in the $300s.
