Why Siesta Key Sells Across Ages

Two consecutive rave reviews on Siesta Key early in 2015 validate realtors’ typical sales pitch that buying a home in this barrier island equates with having a place in a world-class beach which appeals to residents of all ages.

The latest of these accolades came from the nongovernment organization AARP, an advocate for retirees, which listed Siesta Beach as its No. 1 choice among 12 leading beaches that merit a visit this year. This NGO, champion for seniors’ issues on such matters as retirement planning, employment security and health care, put Siesta Beach ahead of No. 2 LaniKai Beach in Hawaii and No. 3 Trunk Bay in St. John, Virgin Islands.

From another demographic viewpoint, Yahoo Travel included Siesta Key in its 2015 round up of top 25 cities for spring break. Also among those named as favorite destinations for this yearly ritual of memorable parties, relaxation and rest for the younger set were Myrtle Beach in South Carolina, Panama City Peach, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Relaxed vibe of pristine sands

Why Siesta Key Sells Across Ages

Both AARP and Yahoo Travel cited the relaxed ambience in Siesta Key Beach, a feature which can be largely attributed to its pristine white sands, touted as 99.9% quartz and relatively cool even on the hottest of days. Locals who are into holistic healing even swear that these sands’ quartz-crystal quality produces an energy concentration which maximizes their esoteric capability to heal physically as well as emotionally. Some local healers take as an indication of the alleged metaphysical vitality of Siesta Beach a decades-old but lushly canopied tree amid heavy grass growth and holding fort just 60 feet from the coastline here.

Now, skeptics may dismiss such allegation as mere myth, but there are indeed a lot of vibrancy in Siesta Beach perfect for life and leisure activities that are attractive not only to tourists but also to buyers of Sarasota homes for sale. Siesta Key, in fact, is a busy host year-round to a slew of events, such as summer weekend runs for kids, national collegiate beach volleyball, and sand-sculpting contests. The Siesta Village near the beach too is another draw for its quaint shops and eateries.

Investment rental opportunities

Investors, who sense the income-generating potential that these attractions lend to Siesta Key rental properties, can explore some choices in current listings of Sarasota condos for sale. These possible investment opportunities are not only very convenient to Siesta Beach but are attractively priced slightly above or under the $300s as well.

One condo buying destination which a pro realtor may recommend is Harbor Tower which allows a minimum two-week lease. As of early June 2015, there are two listings here priced in the low $200s, featuring one bedroom and one bath within its living area of 751 square feet. Sunrise Cove, where a one-month minimum lease is the norm, also has a current listing at this price range and with nearly similar square footage.

For a fresh listing, a unit in Vista Hermosa was put in the market for Siesta Key condos for sale in late May of 2015 at a starting price in the low $300s. This condo is designed for two bedrooms and two baths within a floor plan of 900 square feet.
