Esplanade Golf & Country Club Real Estate for Sale – Lakewood Ranch, Florida 34211

Esplanade Golf & Country Club is one of the highly successful real estate developments of national homebuilder Taylor Morrison, one of the ventures that this NYSE-listed company pursued to avail of the opportunities brought about by the housing-led U.S. economic recovery. The Esplanade brand along with its development template was first employed as one of the latest additions in the master-planned Lakewood Ranch (LWR). It has been so successful that the Scottsdale, Arizona-based developer replicated its formula in several other ensuing projects—Esplanade by Siesta Key, two other Esplanades in Naples and another in Parrish.

Simply put, an active lifestyle is the primary driver for Esplanade at Lakewood Ranch and its successors. The development of this community was started in 2012 in a strategically located 600-acre site in Manatee County just north of State Road 70 and close to the northern border of Sarasota County.

Luxury resort living

Taylor Morrison developed Esplanade at LWR as a gated, maintenance-free community brimming with luxury resort-type amenities that are bundled with home ownership and meet most of the lifestyle needs and preferences of the community’s residents. The community, for example, has a 6,000-square-foot clubhouse with a full-time lifestyle director. This Amenity Center features a lagoon style, heated pool and spa, as well as a resistance pool.

Programs and facilities for physical fitness and wellness are likewise part of the Esplanade clubhouse offerings. The fitness classes available include water, cardio, flexibility and strength training programs, in addition to nutrition consultation and health and wellness seminars.

Fire pits and barbecue space supplement the many options for dining venues at the clubhouse which also has a catering kitchen, grand ballroom, library, billiard room and cards and craft room. Playing courts are likewise available for bocce and pickleball.

Tennis facilities are added selling points of Esplanade’s Amenity Center. The community’s residents can avail of professional instruction from USTA/UPSTA tennis professionals and join club-organized tournaments and matches for members and guests. A fully stocked tennis pro shop that also provides stringing and equipment repair services is likewise among the clubhouse facilities.

Lifestyle activities outdoors are as well provided. The Esplanade Amenity Center maintains a fenced bark park for pets, an adventure playground, canoe and kayak launch, formal events lawn and a fitness lawn.

Leisurely pace at the links

Accent on Esplanade’s active outdoor lifestyle is provided by the community’s 18-hole championship golf course which occupies all of 130 acres. This par 72 semi-private layout plays at 6,716 yards at the farthest tees but is more forgiving for ladies’ play at 4,700 yards.

This course is remarkable for the leisurely play it offers. Its designer, noted course architect Chris Wilczynski, allowed an open front for most of the layout’s 18 holes to enhance playability and give golfers the opportunity to roll the ball into the green. To provide the challenge, some 60 bunkers went into the links’ design in addition to the water hazards that come into play in nine holes within the layout.

Professional golf instruction from a class A PGA pro is available at Esplanade which likewise provides a driving range and cart rentals.

Lengthy list of home choices

A home purchase in Esplanade at LWR will involve choices as plentiful as the amenities in this golf community. Offered here are options on some 20 home models categorized into three series: Club, Golf VII and Golf VIII.

One suitable starter home is the Roma model in the Club Series which features two bedrooms and two baths within its floor plan of 1,686 square feet. This new construction has a builder-quoted price of $285,900. At the upper end of the scale is the three-bedroom Vinci VIII model in the Golf VIII series, which has a floor area of nearly 3,450 square feet and a builder price tag of $578,900.

Some move-in ready, pre-built homes in Esplanades at LWR are also listed in the MLS of Sarasota homes for sale. Most of these listings are typically-three bedroom residences with floor areas of nearly 2,300 square feet and asking prices between the $300s and $500s.
