Grand Oaks is a gated community located along East Venice Avenue. Its site is only a short distance west of this avenue’s junction with Jacaranda Boulevard, a signpost for some of the most attractive and strategically located Venice homes for sale.

In October 2013, a 1.2-mile Jacaranda extension was completed and opened to traffic, directly benefiting Grand Oaks and its locality. This extension traverses Border Road to Laurel Road and thus creates a new access route towards Interstate 75 which is north of the community.

A separate public works project which was scheduled to wind up in 2014 likewise stands to deliver benefits for this community. This involves a 19-mile north-to-south extension of Honore Avenue from Sarasota to Venice’s Pinebrook Road which is also a short distance north of Grand Oaks.

Two other charming communities, Venice Palms and Enclaves of Venice North which were developed in the early to mid-2000s, are just across Grand Oaks. Property values at Venice Palms range from the high $100s up to the $300s for residences having floor plans of between 1,952 and 2,482 square feet, featuring three or four bedrooms. The nearby Enclaves, on the other hand, typically have listings of Venice homes for sale priced from the mid-$100s to $200s for two-bedroom residences having floor areas of about 1,700-2,100 square feet.

Grand Oaks and these neighboring communities are just minutes away from downtown Venice and Gulf Coast beaches. Convenient transit to other area attractions has also been considerably enhanced by the extensions of Honore Avenue and Jacaranda Boulevard. By themselves, these major road corridors already host a lot life and leisure centers, such as the Publix Super Market and CVS Pharmacy just a short distance east of Grand Oaks.
