As alluring, wild peacocks also roam the Longbeach Village, particularly at its Broadway Street. Seeking such quaint avian company in this particular neighborhood may entail negotiations for a three-bedroom, Key West style home built in the early 1970s with a floor plan of 1,838 square feet and an asking price in the high $500s.

Most of the historic Longboat Key homes for sale at the Village are above this price point. A three-bedroom Longbeach house constructed in 1930 with a floor area of 1,444 square feet was placed in the market sometime in October 2014 with a tag price around the mid-$700s.

Another sales listing of a historic home in this community has an asking price in the high $600s. Entered in the registry of Florida’s historic places, this cypress cottage home was built in 1935 and designed with two bedrooms within its floor area of 1,610 square feet.

Expect Longbeach to preserve its historic character and quaint old Florida heritage, as there is a strong sense of community in the Village. Besides a Longbeach Village Association, a newly organized homeowners federation, The North End Property Owners Coalition, is likewise taking initiatives to give the communities in the area a stronger voice on issues and concerns affecting the locality, such as future developments, maintaining property values, canal dredging and beach renourishment.
