Sarasota National Homes for Sale – Venice, Florida 34293

Sarasota National is one of the seven communities comprising the West Villages, but its early inception came much earlier than its host master development in Venice. This residential community is within a highly coveted 2,400-acre site just south of U.S. 41 and east of Jacaranda Boulevard. It was planned along with a namesake golf club which was built ahead and inaugurated in 2008.

The subsequent housing downturn, however, hindered the plans on Sarasota National homes for sale. Homebuilding in this golf community only gained full traction in 2013 when WCI Communities took over its development.

Home construction in Sarasota National further stepped up moving forward 2017 as leading national builder Lennar Corp. of Miami acquired the Bonita Springs-based WCI. This acquisition notably created a powerhouse of developer expertise and resources capable of delivering not only some of the better choices of homes for sale in Venice but also in all of Florida as well.

Twin Subdivisions

The lots of Sarasota National homes for sale are platted in two large subdivisions: Lake Village and Golf Village. As its name suggest, the latter’s homes are set around the sprawling links and fairways of the property’s golf course, while the latter has lakes and nature preserves as its template.

Golf Village has 800 lots platted for carriage homes, grand villas and estate homes. Homeownership in this subdivision requires buying a membership in the Sarasota National Golf Club and paying an initiation fee. As club members, the Golf Village residents has access to Sarasota National’s bar and grill as well as its pro shop. The golf course though isn’t exclusive to members and open to the public on a fee-based basis.

A Nature Sanctuary

The Sarasota National golf course has been designated as an Audubon International Certified Signature Sanctuary, with the conservation group involved in the planning the development of the property. All Sarasota National homes for sale, as a result, are set amidst 1,300 acres of nature preserves, hammocks, wetlands and sanctuaries.

The Lake Village of this community consists of 754 home sites occupying the western part of the property. The residential choices here also include villas and coach homes. Buying a home in this subdivision does not require golf club membership purchase, but rounds of golf are accessible to its residents on a “pay to play” arrangement.

A Bounty of Amenities

This development is maintenance-free for its residents, enabling them to fully enjoy the various leisure facilities in their community of which there are plenty. The amenities provided in Sarasota National include a 32,000-square-foot, three-building clubhouse along with a fitness center, spa and locker rooms, a resort-style pool and tennis courts.

The West Villages master development also extends a lot of additional perks to living in Sarasota National. A town center is set just a short distance east of this community, and the spring training facility for the Atlanta Braves is also scheduled to open nearby in 2019.

In 2017, some 50 residences were sold at Sarasota National at prices ranging from the $200s to the $600s. At these price points, the community’s sales-listed homes typically have floor plans of between 1,600 and 3,200 square feet designed with two to three bedrooms plus all the life and leisure delights that the city of Venice offers.
