Under a year-long project completed in 2019, infrastructure in the city center has been revamped to foster walkability and full compliance with standards of ADA (American Disabilities Act).

Some of these community features could be enjoyed at Heritage Park just in front of Palm Terrace. The park’s multi-use trail was upgraded in early 2017, a project that widened the asphalted path and its slopes adjusted to make it ADA-compliant.

The beaches near Palm Terrace are also on par with ADA standards. The Chauncey Howard Park a short distance south of the community was built specifically as a handicapped-accessible beach park, and from here, Venice Beach is accessible as well. Wheelchairs are notably available for free at the Venice Beach lifeguard tower. The Service Club Park of Venice likewise provides handicapped-accessible boardwalks with picnic areas.
