Palm Terrace Homes for Sale

Palm Terrace is a condominium complex for age 55-plus residents in Venice. Condos for sale in this community flaunt some of the classic features that helped elevate the city as one of the leading destinations in Southwest Florida for retirees.

The site that this community occupies on the block of 521 West Venice Avenue is small, but it sure is fit for retirement. Its site fronts a slice of Heritage Park which occupies the West Venice Avenue median of nearly half a mile from Avenue des Parques to Venice Beach. The community also directly backs up south to Granada Avenue with a median lush with trees and landscaping.

Quite apt for these surroundings, this residential development mimics a quiet, park-like environment that its name suggests. It was developed with six two-story buildings nestled amidst exquisite landscaping that includes mature Banyan trees.

Local amenities and services are improving in the area, as there are two new healthcare facilities being built in the Venice area. Venice, moreover, offers an active lifestyle especially for retirees living in Palm Terrace and in other age 55-plus communities around the city’s historic downtown area. The speed limit in downtown streets has been reduced to 20 miles per hour for a more pedestrian-friendly setup. Under a year-long project completed in 2019, infrastructure in the city center has been revamped to foster walkability and full compliance with standards of ADA (American Disabilities Act).

Some of these community features could be enjoyed at Heritage Park just in front of Palm Terrace. The park’s multi-use trail was upgraded in early 2017, a project that widened the asphalted path and its slopes adjusted to make it ADA-compliant.

The beaches near Palm Terrace are also on par with ADA standards. The Chauncey Howard Park a short distance south of the community was built specifically as a handicapped-accessible beach park, and from here, Venice Beach is accessible as well. Wheelchairs are notably available for free at the Venice Beach lifeguard tower. The Service Club Park of Venice likewise provides handicapped-accessible boardwalks with picnic areas.
