Rapalo is one of the four communities in Venice wherein leading U.S. homebuilder D.R. Horton has set its footprints. Its sister communities in the city are the Preserve at West Villages, Toscana Isles and Caribbean Village.

The Texas-based D.R. Horton designated its Express Homes unit specializing in affordably priced starter homes for the development of Rapalo. This community is platted for a total of 109 home sites in a parcel located east of Englewood Road (S.R. 776) just south of the southern terminus of Jacaranda Boulevard.

Also close by are Frank Theatres and such dining venues as Rib City, Outback Steakhouse and Panda Express which could pretty much round out the delights of owning a home at Rapalo.
