The Inlets at Riverdale is a boating community which provides more besides a water-based lifestyle deftly developed along the southern banks of the Manatee River where this waterway is joined by its main tributary, the Braden River. The master planning that went into this 60-acre property in Bradenton also incorporated other exciting amenities. Moreover, additional life and leisure facilities are conveniently accessible around its site just north of State Road 64 and west of Interstate 75, a prime location for Bradenton homes for sale.

This community was platted in 1957 for 800 homes, but its development only took off in earnest in 1993 through the initiative of Camlin Home. This local builder planted mangrove propagules gathered from all over Florida to enhance the natural beauty of the property. With the mangrove well acclimated to the river and now matured, The Inlets’ tidal area and nature park have become a habitat teeming with fish and wildlife.

New building frenzy

Building activity at The Inlets picked up anew around 2012 in the lead-up to the housing recovery from the Great Recession. A recent entry to the building frenzy in this community is leading Florida builder Neal Communities and its unit Neal Signature Homes, Besides Camlin, Arthur Rutenberg and Medallion Homes are also the builders in this community.

The Inlets development has four phases, the first of which is an ungated section adjacent to SR 64. Next is Harborwalk, followed by The Preserve and Bella Solé, a pair where many new constructions are still underway.

Award-winning homes

The Preserve, a gated neighborhood, is the domain of custom luxury homes either on the riverfront or next to inland canals. Asking prices of Bradenton homes for sale in this neighborhood start at $600,000 and top at around $2 million.

Builds by Arthur Rutenberg and Medallion Home in the Preserve won awards in the 2012 Parade of Homes. Previously, the superb architecture and land planning of the Inlets also won a number of national awards, including the 1996 Best in American Living from the National Association of Home Builders.

Resale and brand new

Luxury homes can likewise be found at Bella Sole, which consists of just 37 home lots developed next to saltwater canals. Also gated, this neighborhood is managed maintenance-free for its homeowners. A 2014 build by Medallion Home here with two bedroom and three baths within a floor area of 2,265 square feet has a market value in the $700s.

The starting prices typically ease at Harbour Walk where Bradenton homes for sale in the mid to high $400s may be in the resale market. For new builds in this neighborhood, Neal Signature Home is set to finish by end 2015 first quarter a three-bedroom residence with a floor area of 2,375 square feet and a tag price hovering in the mid-$600s.

Amenities and offsite services

The riverfront setting of the Inlets provides various amenities led by private deepwater docks which can accommodate boats of up to 80 feet. In addition to a tennis court, the community also offers trails for hiking and jogging throughout its nature park. It also has a fishing pier, canoe and kayak launch, picnic area and children’s playground.

Access to life and leisure venues outside the Inlets is also convenient with many just a few minutes away from the community. These include not only theaters, galleries, shops and restaurants but also banks and health care providers.
