Del Tierra is a gated, family-oriented residential development in East Manatee. It is located between Upper Manatee Road and Rye Road where its main entry is set as an impressive gateway for newly built Bradenton homes for sale.

Platted on a 655-acre site, this community served as the first venture of the Express Homes Tampa–Sarasota Division of giant national builder D.R. Horton. Del Tierra is planned for over 600 home sites, with builds both from Express Homes and its parent D.R. Horton.

The development of this property began sometime in 2014 as part of the resurgence of homebuilding after the Great Recession. Its sales and marketing followed in 2015, and the first of its residents moved in early the next year. The Del Tierra homeowners are already well organized and have set up an informative website and Facebook presence for their community.

D.R. Horton and Express Homes, which is focused on building affordable and quality homes, offers choices from some 17 models at Del Tierra. These come in one- and two-story designs featuring Spanish architectural style.

Del Tierra homes for sale are geared for every type of buyer, including aspiring first-time homeowners. The floor areas of residences set in the community range from 1,607 to 4,275 square feet with four to five bedrooms and at least three baths. Their asking prices are quoted from the $200s up to the $400s.

Northward, the Upper Manatee River Road leads to the newly built Fort Hamer Bridge linking up to various points of interest in historic Parrish. The attractions past the span include newly renovated Fort Hamer Park featuring boat docks and rowing facilities.

The camping grounds and facilities for outdoor activities of the 556-acre Lake Manatee State Park are also near the community’s southern periphery. Short trips towards south also lead Del Tierra residents to Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota via White Eagle Boulevard set for connection with the community’s main Rye Road access.

To cap it off, several well-established neighborhoods flank Del Tierra. Its neighboring communities include Mill Creek, Country Creek and Rye Wilderness. The Gene Witt Elementary School is likewise just south of this fast-growing community.
